Prayer room

I learned late last quarter about a prayer room on UCSD, and it was only earlier this quarter that one of my friends from ICF brought me to the prayer room. It was like stepping into a mini-church... It's such a nice place!! :)

The room is at the Price Center, located on the 2nd level. It's somewhat hidden and a little difficult to find. But the room is furnished with lots of stuff to help people who want to go in and seek God.

When you step into the room, the first thing people will notice is the walls. One wall has a cloth on which people can put up events or things both campus-wide and globally that they would like others to pray for. Another wall contains a canvas on which people can write things down.

Near the door, there's a prayer box, where people can write down their prayer requests and slip them into the box. At the same time, people can also take out the prayer requests and read them or support these requests in prayer. Talk about the body of Christ supporting one another in prayer. :)

At a corner of the room, there's a bottle with paper beside it. It might look like a bottle for trash because of the torn papers inside, but it's actually a bottle for people to write down things that they want to get rid of, tear these papers up and place them in the bottle.

I suppose no prayer place is complete without worship music (or so I feel). There's a radio with a CD and tape player. There are also several CDs containing worship music provided, and recently I discovered that someone had started taking the effort to label the songs in the CDs (at that time only a few were labelled).

There are also 2 files. One is labelled as "Thanksgivings", in which people can record down things that they are thankful for. The other file is labelled as "Prayer Log", and it is a file where people can record down their prayers or even visions that they receive from God.

I've been to this room about 5 times now, and each time I'm falling more and more in love with the room. Whoever made the prayer room sure thought of pretty much anything people would need for their prayer time, and they provided it. This room has been a blessing to many, and it definitely will be a blessing to many more.

I will REALLY REALLY miss this prayer room when I go back to NUS!
